Clearly inspired by Peter Jackson’s splatsticks Bad Taste and Braindead, this film is about rampaging mutant zombie sheep, and the rest of the film is just as silly as this description. The film is off to a rocky start, with poor camera angles and just as poor editing. However, this problem decreases as we progress into the film, and the humor flows more easily. It is silly, but done with charm.

I finished watching Black Sheep last night. It took two attempts to get through this film. I just couldn’t get into it. It was dull. I hardly did a chuckle. I couldn’t stand the characters. I was rooting for the sheep’s. The real gore didn’t happened until an hour into the film, and that didn’t even last long. I don’t call gore when you just see a bunch of bodies parts laying around, and sheep’s are eating it.

The good of the film was the sheep’s, they were done well, and the effects that they had were good. The independent horror movie industry from New Zealand needs to stop thinking that they are going to be the next Peter Jackson, and start getting original. Yeah, the concept was but everything else was cut short.

Simply put, it’s bloody hilarious.

If you’re a fan of stupid comedy-horror nonsense of the ‘Bad Taste’ variety you’re gonna love it.
