A story about this — 2 years ago

This book has a lot of interesting information, but the writing style in it is driving me up the wall! I’m only on page 61 and I’ve come across several extremely irritating repetitive sentences like “In particular, he was particularly annoyed that…,” “The locals could keep the business in business….” The rest seems like it’s been written by an automaton-every other sentence is “Not only [blah, blah], but also [blah, blah]” ARGH! Every single sentence contains that meaningless filler you use in essays to artificially inflate the word count. Was this book not edited at all?!? —Taking a deep breath-

Let’s see whether I can stand it long enough to finish the book. I feel bad for getting so annoyed, because the author seems like a nice person….

ETA: No, couldn’t stand it….back to the library it goes.
