I did like this book, and it was a great British mystery in the whole long tradition of British mysteries. There were times where the Sayers-esque detail made me want to pull my teeth out, but still worth it.

WORTH CONSUMING!

November 2004 – Listened to this on CD from the library. This is an Adam Dalgleish mystery, which I have read a few of here and there. This story had an old-fashioned, slow-paced feel to it even though it was set in modern times. In the end I liked the story, although Dalgleish’s love affair was a barely developed secondary plot.

Found this one on audio cd. I’m liking it quite a bit, and I’m discovering that I really like Charles Keating’s readings.

This is a good one. It has the added spice of romance – as Dalgleish has finally found someone he’s actually keen on. P.D James is very dry and observational. I just wish she’d write more books using Cordelia Gray as her protagonist!

Another birthday gift – I’m looking forward to this one. I love Adam Dalgliesh.
