WORTH CONSUMING!

Cute – a nice, light, charming style, with just a little bit of darkness to keep us on our toes. I really came to enjoy Precious’s character by the end.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I really enjoyed the book. It’s a really light and quick read. Plus it’s set in Botswana. It talked a lot about Africa, and Botswana, and life in Africa, and such things. I think I enjoyed it as much for that stuff as for the actual story line.

I truly enjoyed this book. Precious Ramotswe is an engaging and interesting protagonist. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I just loved this book! I’m definitely going to have to pick up the others in the series.

I started the book halfway through my honeymoon while staying at a bed and breakfast in Avignon, France. I finished it just a few days later in the Charles de Gaulle airport while waiting for my plane back to the States. I had hoped to release it in France, but I couldn’t find an Internet terminal in the airport.

Here are a couple of my favorite parts of the book. I don’t think they give anything away, but just in case you don’t want to know anything before you read the book…stop reading here if you haven’t already read the book!

The problem, of course, was that people did not seem to understand the difference between right and wrong. They needed to be reminded about this, because if you left it to them to work out for themselves, they would never bother. They would just find out what was best for them, and then they would call that the right thing. That’s how most people thought.
And:
There was so much suffering in Africa that it was tempting just to shrug your shoulders and walk away. But you can’t do that, she thought. You just can’t.

Very pleasant to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It reads more like a series of interconnected tales than a single mystery/detective narrative, but the shorter story quality makes it a good read for a busy person.

WORTH CONSUMING!

DH gave me this yesterday and thus saved my life as I had nothing to read. I’d been wanting to read this for a while – it’s a lovely book. Has sort of a simple, clear style of writing – almost like a fairy story. It’s great.

I call books like these “gentle” books. They’re just so relaxing to the brain because they’re good, simple stories.
