WORTH CONSUMING!
This was an interesting, if somewhat dry, look at the evolution of the North American throwaway culture, starting with cars and transistor radios, traveling through miniaturization and espionage, and ending with our relentless trend toward discarding basically-good cellular phones.
I would have liked the book to have delved a little into the potential for solutions, instead of just delivering a fairly-academic timeline of the trend… but it was worth a read.
