I initially liked this because of its intimate setting in Barcelona, a city I recognized through the writing even though I only spent a few days there. It went on to be interesting, and completely bizarre. If you pick this up, though, do so without reading the jacket copy, because it sort of ruins the experience a little by giving something away. Still, it’s got love and adventure, sex, drugs, not much rock-n-roll, madness, 13th century religions, children on the roof and more. And some of the sentences are LOVELY.
