Why I want to consume this — 1 year ago

I am using goodreads now instead of allconsuming. There I can integrated into social networking sites and keep track of reading progress. You can find me at http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/1789593

WORTH CONSUMING!

Compared to LibraryThing: GR has a slightly better ui and no 200-entry cap. The latter sucks, especially if you have any of the following

a. a great love of books
b. a lot of books
c. time to enter your books into the dbase
d. any of the above

$25 uncaps the limit, but since it’s not the only book/library dbase service available online – thumbs down for LT in my book (pardon the pun) and thumbs up for GR. GoodReads is also highly social – maybe that’s just the impression I get. But the thing I care most about the site is the librarian status. Getting this enables you to add books manually and edit mistakes where you see them. Wrong ISBN? Zap! Similar entries? Zap zap! Then again, policing (sorting) a books dbase site might not be everyone’s cuppa tea. Me? I find it soothing and helpful. You won’t see the same thing on my shelves in real life though. Books all out of whack, alphabetisation? What’s that?!

Oh well. At least there’s GR to help me out.
