WORTH CONSUMING!

have learned that when Joseph Gordon-Levitt is on the cover of a DVD, even if I’ve never heard of before, it’s probably a good idea to check it out. The guy typically picks offbeat but quietly brilliant projects, and this one is no exception. Written and directed by Scott Frank, who wrote the adaptations of Out of Sight and Get Shorty, The Lookout is a crime thriller about a young man living with a traumatic brain injury. I’m not going to give any of the plot away, but suffice to say there are a few twists and turns, and a great climax, even if the denouement drags a little bit. Thanks, Mr. Gordon-Levitt: you’ve done it again.

WORTH CONSUMING!

As much as I liked it, there was something missing from it. I can’t put my finger on it, but it was almost perfect except for one abstract element.

I would still recommend it though.
