After one listen through, some bits grabbed me but others made me yawn. “Nod Your Head” is a great tune but some of the lyrics had my eyes rolling. Maybe I just need to give this album a little more time to grow on me.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Solo Paul McCartney, in his career after The Beatles (and a few decent singles with Wings) has never been a favourite of mine. I liked Flaming Pie when it came out ten years ago, but his releases since then haven’t been very good. Memory Almost Full doesn’t hit the same highs as Flaming Pie, but it’s still a good album. I’m surprised that this pop album that has this much range: granted, it’s very obviously a McCartney album, but some of the tracks have a dark quality to them that I honestly didn’t expect. A pleasant surprise that shouldn’t be overlooked.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Holy, holy, holy goodness! This is an album full of real life emotions, and it’s so perfect. The only song I do not perfectly LOVE is 222, I just don’t get it. But the album is powerful, yet light, It’s like The Ginger People’s Ginger Juice: you recognize the flavor, and everything seems really familiar, but it’s the first time you’ve ever had something so not sweet and sticky. It’s just completely … i dunno, honest?

This is an album full of songs you could build playlists or mix tapes around. They’re all so solid they could hold almost anything together.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I don’t get it. He should be bad, but this is good, akin to the album before this one. Yikes!
