This was funny, but not that funny. It was just about as funny as the newer seasons have been, and contains just as many references to drugging/hallucination. Bizarre.

I saw this last night, midnight show. I would say that like a lot of Simpsons fans, my devotion to the show has waned in the past few years. I stopped buying the box sets at season 8, and for all intensive purposes stopped watching them on tv, not really on purpose, but i stopped going out of my way to catch an episode. however, i was impressed with the few new ones that I did see, which made me look forward to the movie.
i left the theater thinking, “That was just right.” they didnt try to do too much, over the top and whatnot, it was actually really funny and yet occasionally heartwarming, as only the simpsons can pull off. overall, if youve ever been a fan of the series, i’d recommend this film.
