I work in a library, so I check out all the books I read. I got about halfway through this book and decided I just had to own a copy. It’s heartbreaking and hilarious and absolutely wonderful.

I read this book because Sherman Alexie came to Bookshop Santa Cruz and I listened to him read parts of it out loud. It was hilarious, and I highly encourage you to go to any Author event that Alexie is at. He has a great stage presence, and he knows all about timing.

The book itself was touching, I didn’t feel like it answered any life questions for me, but it showed me a slice of life I wasn’t familiar with.
