Written on a lark 100 years ago, Hilaire Belloc takes on allcomers with 30 or so essays on Nothing and kindred subjects. He was the prototypical blogger bag then, polemics on large themes, observations on small things, wit, verse, satire, erudite musings. The best book I’ll likely read for a long time and such a joy. I wish my toli will be like his when I grow up… Brilliant!
