A story about this — 2 years ago

It will require more listens to firm up whether I lean more towards Not Worth Consuming or Worth It! since some of the Dublin Sessions disc bores me and leaves me cold but some of it is pretty amazing (“If You Had a Vineyard” is a standout..much better than the more fleshed-out production on the London sessions disc.)

Many on Amazon expressed dislike of O’Connor’s take on the JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR chestnut “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” but I’m not sure why. It’s a nice updating.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Theology is Sinead’s strongest album since I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got or Universal Mother. She’s raw and expressing what I think she always intended to on earlier attempts. She’s definitely on the other side of the “healing room.” The songs are beautiful, fragile, fierce, and questioning. Standouts include We People Who Are Darker Than Blue, Out Of The Depths, and I Don’t Know How To Love Him (the first single). The song Whomsoever Dwells literally took my breath away! So far, I’ve only listened to the “London” disc, which features versions with a full band, orchestra, and chorus. I can’t wait to give the acoustic “Dublin” disc a spin! Sinead has never disappointed me. I’ve traveled the journey with her and have enjoyed every place she’s taken me!
