Castle of the Wolf is billed as a paranormal romance but it barely deserves the classification. Don’t expect monsters, werewolves, vampires, or aliens. The novel more closely resembles a gothic romance. Set in the wild black forests of early 19th century Germany, the story follows the willful Celia Fussell and demonic Fenris Von Wolfenbach. The plot feels somewhat weak and relies too heavily on fairy tales and simplistic metaphors. The only reason I gave this novel a four star rating is because Wolfenbach has a wooden leg.
