I agree with a a lot of what he says but think it’s written in such a way that annoyed me in only the way a copy of the Daily Mail can.
I bet he’s a reader.

His single minded and completely unbalanced view undermines the good messages he is trying to get across. Yes we should have more coppers on the beat and yes the paperwork they are expected to do is ridiculous but there are more areas that need to be policed than just burglars and drug addicts. Some even need skills that your average PC might not have – fancy that.

Potentially a good book. But it’s not.

Like most factual books of this nature, they make me rather angry. And also, I don’t much like the policeman author, as he seems to have given up, and, like most other policemen, is lazy. Never really wanting to solve anything, just complaining about the current situation. And it annoys me that he is this way when the people he admires are people in the force who have tried to stand up and make a difference. But I will finish it, I promise. It’s very rare I leave a book unfinished.
