Not as bad as “Not Worth Consuming”, but not really worthy of “Worth Consuming”. I would have to, regretfully, put this one as “Wishy Washy”, which is a shame because I usually enjoy Kevin Kline and Joan Cusack and I respect both of their formidable talents. Frankly, this film is not as funny or as interesting as the reviews led me to believe it would be, but there is one scene in it — Kevin Kline dancing to “I Will Survive” — that is almost worth the price of the DVD.

I have heard this movie was inspired by Tom Hanks’ speech when he accepted the Academy Award for Philadelphia because in the speech, he thanked a teacher who helped him with his character. Turns out the teacher had not been open about being gay and found himself outed in front of millions of Americans. Or something like that. I love Kevin Kline and Joan Cusack, who star in this film.
