WORTH CONSUMING!

Probably most entertaining movie since Blade (I don’t count Dark Knight since it’s DC). Normally I don’t like Marvels but here they made a nice flick.
Sure the placing of the warlord setting (Afghanistan) was not the best, but I don’t see any reference to TWAT

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Anti-muslim propaganda and pro-war schenanigans, nanana! Excessive product placement, I need to buy a Dell, switch to Verizon, and grab a whopper on the way!

I’m cranky. And I was cranky when I went to see Iron Man.

I can’t decide if the need for inserting TWAT (the war against terror) into this movie was timely or just stupid? Maybe it was to further illustrate that the worst monsters are the ones we create ourselves but I bet there is more than a small segment of the population who walked away with “awesome! nuke ‘em all!”

On the positive, I liked his little outfits, and boy, Gweneth Paltrow sure is cute (cain’t no one walk in 5 inch heels through broken glass like she can).

I also liked seeing the Dude on a segway. That was pretty damn awesome.

WORTH CONSUMING!

HUGELY enjoyed this :) And great to have a decent superhero movie for a change, as some recent examples have been… a tad disappointing!

Robert Downey Jr. is just brilliant. Not least because he mirrors the character in his real life: playboy who’s been in trouble, getting a second chance or two. His enjoyment of the role is obvious, and the script’s humour perfectly matches Downey’s deadpan delivery.

If everything else seems just to facilitate the Iron Man creation story, it’s so cool – and often hugely funny – that I didn’t mind too much.

Bring on the sequel :)

I was never a fan of Iron Man, but the movie does a decent job. The suit is impressive, some jokes are good (I loved the jet boot testing bits), and Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges might seem strange choices for hero and antagonist but it works.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I thought some of the other superhero movies I had seen were better, but this was an enjoyable movie with some great laughs along the way.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is the strongest movie from the Marvel Comic Universe to date and if you compare this to both Spider-Man and X-Men this is a far stronger start from the get go. It meshes his origin from Tales of Suspense #39 and the later story lines in the Iron Man Comic as well as Stark’s character flaws of womanizing and alcoholism. Both pretty heady topics for a comic book for kids. Jon Favreau does a great job of directing this but he had help from a great script and super Special effects from Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).

The Cast is all top notch. Robert Downey Jr owns his role of Tony Stark and plays him to the hilt. Jeff Bridges makes a surprisingly good bad guy. Terrence Dashon Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow do great in their supporting roles. ILM co-stars as Iron Man and he looked fairly real for a CGI Character

Watch it till the very end, there is an extra scene with Samuel L Jackson after the credits roll.

STATION. Worth consuming! This is the best Action movie of 2008 so far hands down! Let’s see if Batman can give it a run for its money….

All I can say is “wow”. I didn’t really like Iron Man as a comic growing up, but this is probably one of the best comic book based movies I’ve seen in a long long time. I highly suggest you go see it even if you aren’t a big Iron Man fan. The movie was very entertaining and the effects were great.

If you are a big Marvel Universe fan, stay past the end of the credits.
