WORTH CONSUMING!

Jack White has the amazing ability of making a new song sound like an old song. The songs on Icky Thump sound like a lost album from (insert 60s/70s era classic rock giant here). But his music still sounds fresh, new and exciting. I have owned a burned copy of Icky Thump for about a year now and I finally gave it a listen and I haven’t stopped for a week. I truly enjoyed everything the White Stripes did before, but Icky Thump goes to a whole new level. Prepare to hear trumpets and bagpipes, but not without Jack White’s squealing guitar. The White Stripes are probably the best thing going in rock and roll right now. They embody the past, present and future of rock music. That was not an overstatement. I have to go give it another spin right now.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a true rock album. Music like this just doesn’t seem to be made anymore, so I was really suprised. I listened the whole time with a smile on my face. Every album they put out is better than the one before.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This album is fabulous for throwing yourself bonelessly around the dancefloor while playing a huge imaginary guitar, organ, and drumset simultaneously, and freaking out your cat.

I didn't love it. — 4 years ago

I just didn’t. I thought I would. I’ll still see them when they come here. But it just seemed too disjointed, too chaotic…too “icky” and not enough “thumpy.”

WORTH CONSUMING!

Great album – very punchy, very cool. They only really lost me during the Irish folky part, but the rest was awesome. Thanks to this and Get Behind Me Satan combined, I’m going to go check out Elephant next.

All in all, I probably dug this a little more than Get Behind Me Satan – a little less polished, a little more brassy.
