WORTH CONSUMING!

But a pretty cute chick flick with some dumb humor here and there.

you’ll throw a brick through the screen after twenty minutes of channeling personal angst.

But Mandy Moore is darn cute and I heart Diane Keaton.

Why I recommend this — 2 years ago

I don’t recommend this movie but it’s worth seeing just for outstanding Diane Keaton. She’s such a wonderful comedian and here she’s again at her best. She, and only her, made me laugh all the time and that’s really the only good thing about ‘Because I said so’.

Because I Said So... — 2 years ago

Granted, the movie stars the cute Mandy Moore, and there were a few funny moments, and there is a very adorable leading man (Gabriel Macht as Johnny), but still the movie doesn’t manage to pull itself together. Even more often, there are odd plot sequences (why would Daphne start kissing a complete stranger?) and rather appalling humor sequences (old people sex and dog humping). Keaton’s character is overbearing and overwhelming and Moore’s character is cliche and flaky. Perabo’s character is rather predictable also. The most refreshing character, even if underdeveloped, is Maggie played by Lauren Graham (a nice parting from her Gilmore Girls sarcasm). Overall, the movie is not worth the money, no matter how much you love the actresses or Gabriel Macht (instead rent American Outlaws which is still cheesy but adorable in its own way).
