This movie is incredibly violent and charged with sexuality and profane language. i didn’t like it for those reasons, but it helped me deal with some of my emotional baggage and scarring from childhood. I may not like a lot of what my father said to me as a child, or what he did, but he never beat me, and for that i am so grateful. Things could have been a lot worse. But i am astounded at the lengths that this woman went to in order to get back at her boyfriend and new lover. This movie is depressing and disgusting and made well enough but what are it’s redeeming quailites outside portraying exactly how one shouldn’t act?

I can’t really say I “liked” a gritty film about domestic violence among selfish petty thieves, BUT Milla Jovovich really does an astounding job acting in this film. Viewers can entirely forgive her role in Ultraviolet as she shows her true acting chops in .45. The movie can be difficult to watch, but the portrayal of love and abuse proves to be a powerful study.
