Wow,actually fuck, me a film which makes a wannabe pedo seem sympathetic,who could write stuff like this except Alan Bennett?
I wonder why Bennett hasn’t been knighted yet,maybe he doesn’t want to?That’s another issue, this is a gem of movie because of his usual witty dialogues and the fine acting of everyone in it.
Of course nobody can really believe that a group of schoolboys could have accepted homosexuality so easily in the early 80s,a fruity teacher with wandering hands maybe but the ease with which classmates sexuality is accepted is farfetched,in Yorkshire?
Finally,checkout the head’s valedictory speech if you don’t find it hilarious you probably won’t agree with me that Bennett is a genius.

I loved this film. It played to everything I enjoy. Great dialog, witty banter, compelling characters, great music, and personally rampant homoeroticism and, of course, anglophilia.
