WORTH CONSUMING!

Oh, I bought it.

It’s freaking amazing. I wish I hadn’t rated it as low as I did before – it’s deserving of the 5 stars. My only less-than thrilling result was the aforementioned Roasted Banana, and again, much of that may be taste.

Mr. Lebovitz seems to like things slightly sweeter than I do, but that’s okay.

I’ve since made Maple Walnut ice cream, Butterscotch with Pecans, various chocolate concoctions, and Gianduja ice cream. They are all my favourite, and I really enjoy the mixins and toppings and vessles sections at the end of the book.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A very fun book – nice introduction to ice cream making theory and techniques, and very nice looking recipes. I especially enjoyed the hint about layering ice cream and ripples into a container as you remove the ice cream from the machine, instead of trying to stir the ripple in. So far, I’ve only made one recipe from the book – Roasted Banana – and I didn’t much care for it, but I think it might just be that I prefer the ice cream a little less sweet, not something intrinsically wrong with the recipe. I’m keen to try one or two more before I have to relinquish the book.
