NOT WORTH CONSUMING

i actually enjoy the inheritence books, which is i think where i went wrong. the only similarities were characters names. i really think paolini was just like, do whatever you want, because no author would let his work become such an atrocity.

two stars, only because i like saphira.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Schlockbuster.

That’s my new word for movies that have an enormous budget but are still awful. This movie has many disappointing parallels with Superman IV, which I watched recently. The notable exception is that Superman IV had it’s budget pulled.

This movie is chock full o’ good actors, a too short running time and a potentially cool story notion, but it fails. Hard. There are gaping story holes, which were painfully apparent. It was based in a fantasy world that seemed to not have been thought out past the lens of the camera. I really hope the book was better (no, it has to be).

I don’t know why studios do this kind of movie: it doesn’t make me want to shell out hard-earned money at the theater. Thank goodness for Netflix and the library.

There are a lot of important actors in this humdrum fantasy not-exactly-romp.

But hey, baby dragons!

Exactly what I expected. Not disgustingly terrible, but a pure kids movie. Simplistic story line, nothing much to think about. The dragon was cute, the kid was cute, but John Malkovich? Either way, I’m happy that Rachel Weisz did the dragon’s voice.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I completely agree with the previous review/story. The movie is nothing like the book. It contains the basic characters and plots, but that’s about it. It completely changes key sequences and in some cases, changing or eliminating minor but key characters. I thought the movie lacked reasons to care. Characters are suddenly sentimental about each other with not buildup or prompting. The movie would have been passable, although not really good, except that the book was so much better. I can’t really recommend the movie.

Oh, and there’s way too much sentimental, overly-dramatic music. Only truly epic movies can carry a soundtrack like that, and this is not one.

Just Jess(ica).

warning: Absolutely nothing like the book. There should have been a “based on” message at the beginning. As a movie it was pretty good, but all the differences got to me anyway. Watch the movie first, then read the book.

Oh boy, another Part 1 of 3 movie. I’m really getting sick of movies that don’t end, they have a couple climaxes, then they jsut drag for a few more minutes and then out of nowhere they just stop. Sorry but this movie didn’t impress me at all so i’m not too concerned with seeing part 2 whenever it gets made. My bf liked it though.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I cant compare it to the book because I havent gotten around to reading it yet, though it is in the que on my shelf. . . but I enjoyed th movie. .. it could have had a little more depth to the plot, but I thought the acting was decent, the dragon was wonderfully done, and over all the potential is there, I am hoping subsequent movies made form the sequal books will surpass this first intallment, but I found it interesting and entertaining to watch. It was good for a snowy monday night movie.
