WORTH CONSUMING!

Wow. This documentary was powerful. The happenings at the end of the Jonestown story were so crazy and happened on such a large scale that I almost couldn’t believe that any of it was true. Unfortunately, the events actually happened, and everything was pretty well recorded.

At the beginning of the documentary, a woman mentioned that no one ever joins a cult; they join a religious movement or a political organization. This film definitely made me think differently about congregations, special interest movements, and charismatic leaders.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was a former Peace Corps volunteer in Guyana and was never quite able to grasp what actually had happened all those years ago even while I was there. Few locals spoke of it, and when they did, it was with great reluctance. A taxi driver had told me he was one of the soldiers that had gone in to clean up the bodies.

Personally this was a very powerful and well produced documentary. I strongly recommend it.
