I went into this with low expectations, having read bad reviews beforehand and was close to giving up on it due to the slow start. I still pushed on, because the Rocky series is an all time classic and I had to see how it finished..

Don’t let others put you off, this is a brilliant way to end an awesome series. I was on the edge of my seat hardly breathing when the final fight was going down, the way it sucks you in and makes you feel for Rocky is amazing. I literally had tears welling up in my eyes and was feeling his pain through the last moments, and thats an extremely rare event for a movie to do that to me. I cant recommend this movie enough. GO ROCKY ! :)

if only for stallone’s cheesy lines, unintentionally-humorous attempts at emotion, ..and milo ventimiglia;)

I’ve seen them all. This is not the best movie in the series, but it does have the best fight footage and the DVD extras are well worth watching, especially Antonio Tarver’s comments about really boxing with Stallone. The first half of the film is rather boring, retrospective and establishing the relationships between Rocky and his now-grown son and an old neighborhood acquaintance, Little Marie. Till he starts training for the exhibition bout with Mason “The Line” Dixon (Tarver), there’s not much to commend this. But like all Rocky movies, Sly pulls it out in the end and creates a winner. By all means watch the deleted scenes and the alternative ending on DVD. Very interesting what they decided to leave out.
