I’d never read any true crime before this, but my future sister-in-law gave me this with a strong recommendation. I didn’t hate it, but I had a hard time getting into it and staying with it. The stories were interesting, mostly, but I had difficulty with Anne Rule’s writing style. Not saying I could do better, but I found some word choices jarring and felt she was making a big deal out of some things that weren’t necessary. Not a great introduction to the genre, but as I’m interested in some of her otherbooks, I’ll give Anne Rule another chance.
