I was a little wary, since I didn’t enjoy the last Buffy I picked up, and it appeared after closer inspection, that Joss wasn’t directly involved in the creation of this work.

Still, I liked it. The Spike & Dru story left me flat, but the rest of it was okay. The Origin retelling was acceptable, and the Willow/Giles/Xander cameo after was fun. The Vegas story didn’t totally suck. The Giles backstory was nice.

I did enjoy the artwork overall, but it didn’t blow me away.

The standout story? Dawn and Hoopy the Bear. Worth picking up the book just to read that. Actually, in general, the Dawn appearances really increased the fun of the book.
