A story about this — 3 years ago
I primarily bought the DVD for my granddaughter who is two years old. Even though it has violence, I don’t regret getting it for her to watch. She was facinated by the scenery and the many differeent dinosaurs and when the carnosaurs appeared, she cried “T-Rex” and roared and moved her hands like little claws just as when she is watching her Elmo’s Dinosaurs DVD. Of course, being only two, her attention span is short and during some of the slower scenes, she wandered out of the room to go play. I think my grandson has already seen this movie because he use to quote some of the stuff said in the movie like “They call me the love monkey”.
The computer graphics/animation are superior as with all Disney films. The story was simple, based towards the end of the Dinosaur Reign on the earth and I liked the ending where it did not specify how the last of the dinosaurs would die but rather hint that we would learn to know that they were once here and how they lived.
I don’t remember much about when this movie came out in 2000 and it is probably because of all the countless movies churned out that followed the sensational success of Jurrasic Park.
