WORTH CONSUMING!

Richard Linklater’s version of the book by Eric Schlosser, this is a multi-faceted view of the fast-food industry as seen through “Mickey’s”, a hamburger-chain. The CEO of Marketing gets complaints that the hamburger-meat contains too much fecal matter and hence goes on a ride to see what’s up. At the same time Mexicans illegally cross the border, “ordered” by Mickey’s to work at their meat-packing plant. Some American students decide to work against the fast-food industry. We see life working for Mickey’s. Footage of animals being killed for their meat is shown, and the immensely effective torture gone into just that. I’m becoming fucking vegetarian.

Even though I think the film is flawed somewhat, it still manages to say its business by stating simple truths about the fast-food industry.
