A story about this — 1 year ago
Given the fast/bright/OTT nature of the movie, the soundtrack album is surprisingly mellow. More than happy to have it as background, mood music (which is 90% of what I like to listen to!), with the occasional interjection: Ruby Rap made me giggle when it suddenly arrived in the middle of rather quiet tracks! :)
Very pleased to have Lucia Di Lammermoor’s full operatic scene included; I have been disappointed my soundtracks in the past, where the obvious ‘musical scene’ from the movie doesn’t make it on. But this was the track I most wanted, really, so hurrah!
The Peter Gabriel-esque (it’s so not, just sounds really like him!) stuff at the start/end is a bit strange on first listen, but it is from the movie and grew on me!
Glad I got this finally :)
edit
Having just rewatched the movie, I can confirm that the CD is the incidental, background music and NOT the more ‘rawk’ overlays. Which is neither good nor bad.
