NOT WORTH CONSUMING
While the conceit of this novel is an intriguing one — the story, narrated by Death, of a girl growing up in Germany during World War II and discovering books as an escape — the writing tries a bit too hard to be different, either seeming contrived or precious. Enjoyable but not recommendable.
