Terrible writing and dialogue obscure good research — 1 year ago
This book, for a period piece, was well researched. I especially appreciated the more realistic depictions of battle and life as a warrior during Arthurian times. However, the terrible dialogue (and at times, writing, too) obscures this fact. I enjoy it, but only because I like the legends around Arthur, etc. If not for that, I probably would have put the book down.
I’ve also listed this as a re-read because I read this book during elementary school or jr. high originally. It was on my shelf still, and I was between books and decided to read it – because I couldn’t for the life of me even remember what it was about. Since I remember enjoying it so much the first time around, I was left… disappointed. Will I read the next in the series? ... Probably.
