An Elseworlds tale of The Bat. Told in three parts (past, present, and future), the House of Wayne is embroiled in a centuries old feud with the eternal Vandal Savage.
It starts of slow, but with a great plot twist at the end of act one, I’m feeling really good about this book. Act two is classic Batman and I’m really digging it. Then comes act three and I’m lost. It’s some sort of Planet of the Apes meets Metropolis. Plus, the art is really gritty and all over the place. I couldn’t really decipher who was who and what in fact they were doing.
It’s a fun read that suffers because it is also a collaboration of 3 different artists. Sometimes, less is more and in this case, DKD would have benefited from that premise.
