Old school collection. — 2 years ago
This game works for me since I no longer have a working Sega Genesis, nor did I ever really take the time to expand my library for it anyway. Packed with about 20+ of some classic Genesis games, this collection is actually pretty perfect for anyone who grew up loving these kinds of games. The fact that it’s on a handheld like the PSP is even better, because they’re good both in one sitting and in small doses (especially considering there’s no save feature for most of the games).
For me though, although the games are pretty much direct ports from their Genesis counterparts, I found a lot of them fairly dull to play. And they’re missing some of the better games like the Streets of Rage series and Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, a classic puzzle game that I still play all the time on my GameCube copy of Sonic Mega Collection.
Still, it’s a decent collection that makes sense on the PSP. Anyone who misses some of the classic Sega games (Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Columns) should pick this up and give it a try.
