I just ate this story up. It’s an easy read text wise, but horribly difficult to read in the sense that Butler does an amazing job at humanizing the narrator as well as detailing the life of slaves and constructing a complex social network that they lived in.

Read this in two sittings: Riveting, educational. A brilliant read.
