A story about this — 2 years ago
Things could not be worse for the coach and his wife at the beginning of this film. His team is losing, car is breaking down, house needs repairs, wife can’t get pregnant, top athlete transfers to a rival school, and parents want the coach replaced. By the end it’s roses everywhere.
About a zillion people are listed in the credits for this high school football saga with a big dose of Christain faith. The Southern Baptist Church in Georgia that produced it did not even attempt to conceal the “David vs. Goliath” theme. Lots of quoting of scripture, and “with God all things are possible” is the ongoing refrain. But it’s not pushy like some overtly Christian films; it creeps up on you nicely. Forgive this movie its faults. There are many. But it is uplifting in a very pleasing way.
