A story about this — 2 years ago
I wanted to treat myself for my birthday, so I bought one of these and prepared it: the best birthday dinner so far! I hope I never tire of this.

I think I finally perfected how to cook one of these: I use a slow cooker; then throw in cubed potatoes, rutabagas, sliced pears, and the roast itself – then pour a glaze of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Soy Sauce, and Pear juice on top of all of it. (I also throw a few sliced pears on top of the roast itself.) I added liquid until it was about halfway up the roast; then left it on high for four hours. It was so flavorful, and beautifully moist – yet not soggy. The only thing I might add next time are some carrots, but I really dug it the way that it was. :)
The Tofurky Roast made by Turtle Island Foods is very delicious!! :D Much better (and more kind to animals and the environment) for Thanksgiving!!
