The book covers the different tribes/nations and each one’s story. In the end, apart the details, each story is the same. It comes down to lies, broken promises and exploitation by the whites.

As I said before, it can be hard to follow at times with all the locations names and the moving around the American Indians were forced to do. A map of the period for the concerned areas would have been very helpful in understanding the events.

This is a text that should be compulsory reading for every single one of us. Americans should read it to have a better understanding of the indigenous peoples of the land on which they live. Australians should read it because maybe it will make them more open to their own history.
