A story about this — 1 year ago
I checked this book, Following Jesus, out of the public library at the start of Lent. I had first read this book several years ago, but did not take seriously the author’s suggestion to read the books of the Bible that corresponded to the first six chapters of this book.
I’m trying to do it differently this time around. That’s why I also checked out a copy of Eugene Peterson’s The Message from the library at the same time. So far I’ve worked my way through 4 of the first 6 chapters of Following Jesus, and also through the biblical books of Hebrews, Colossians, Matthew, Daniel, and Mark. I’m currently reading the book of John, and hope to finish it and also the book of Revelation by Easter Sunday.
I’ve also re-read the last six chapters of Following Jesus, but I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface.
