WORTH CONSUMING!

Grilled cheese is my ultimate comfort food, with tomato soup. My dad made them with tomatoes, my mom with tuna fish. I had a boyfriend for awhile who liked to add French’s yellow mustard. A friend swears by bacon grilled cheese sandwiches. Me, I like a slice of American and a slice of one of the following: provolone, swiss or EXTRA sharp cheddar. When I’m missing my dad I’ll add the tomato, and think that he’s looking down on me. It’s just a sandwich, but somehow it’s more.

WORTH CONSUMING!

We have a machine that makes them, but the best way is with real cheddar in a saucepan that has been buttered =). Really good with tomato soup!

WORTH CONSUMING!

the perfect way to make one, in my opinion, is to spread the outside of bread with softened butter, and then make the sandwich. wrap it in foil, and stick it in the oven at about 250 degrees. when the cheese is all melted, then open the foil and turn the oven on broil. the bread will toast in about 15 seconds, so watch it carefully. then flip it. this way, the bread will be buttery, evenly toasted and crisp, the cheese thorougly melted and gooey…YUM!

WORTH CONSUMING!

Grilled cheese sandwiches rock. If I were stranded on a desert island and could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be that. I don’t think I’d live that long, but it sure would be a cool way to go out.
