WORTH CONSUMING!

Soap is a bit of a boring subject, but having tried most of the bubble bars I fancy, and a few of the not-so-keen-on ballistics, I admit that Lush do have a large and eye-catching range of soaps. Not usually a soap user (I like shower gel!) I still decided to experiment with a few!

The last one I tried left my skin a bit dry, but Sultana of Soap has a rich, creamy lather that does nothing of the sort! The smell is very subtle (apparently there’s bergamot in there, one of my favourites, but it doesn’t really jump out at you), which again was a draw because I don’t really want to drown out the scent of whatever lovely bubble bar I’ve already put in my bath!

Like many of Lush’s soaps, this one comes with a ‘unique’ topping: raisins (and apricots and cranberries). Yes, the dried fruit. It’s a bit weird, but for the first few baths I didn’t really mind as they do give a kind of gentle exfoliation. However, by third use of the soap, the fruit had started to go a bit… squishy. Yuk! Worse, they would randomly detach from the bar and float away into the water – ewwww! Fortunately, unlike the picture above, they are restricted to topping the bar and not embedded all the way through.

That said, I still recommend this as being creamy and nice on the skin – just be prepared to pick the raisins off!
