I also only liked this for the cinematography; that is the sceanery being to scenic and the costuming brilliant. It was really pretty, but I was quite annoyed, I would have done things differently.

I had been looking forward to seeing this movie a great deal. When I finally got it I was ecstatic. I have always been intrigued by certain characters in the bible, Esther being one of them. I couldn’t wait to watch a film about her.

This movie was gorgeous but it was lacking in a lot of things.

The plot was all over the place. I think one would have had to have read the bible to understand what was going on.

The characters were aesthetically pleasing but completely uninteresting and distant. The acting was pretty terrible (in some spots more than others,) but the cheesey screenplay didn’t help at all. The script was simply one cliche after another. I think I could have written better (at some points.)

Pass this up unless you want to examine the lavish sets and clothing, but even then I advise putting it on mute. You will enjoy it just as much, if not more if the audio is off.

Slow, plodding start put me to sleep. I just couldn’t get into it.
