I love Candace Bushnell, probably because she writes unapologetically shallow stories about plastic, superficial people. It’s not meant to be serious, and a good fluff novel never hurts once in awhile. AFTER: Fluff or not, a book’s main character has to be somewhat likeable. And Janey Wilcox? IS NOT. She’s a self-absorbed bitch who makes you want to have bad things happen to her.

I was not sure at first, but I ended up really enjoying the book. It seemed so typical at first – Janey wanting to be famous. You basically know how it will go. But later on, it seems that Janey gets to be a little more human…
