WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie came highly recommended from many of my friends and it does not disappoint. The soundtrack takes on a whole new meaning after watching the movie which boasts some of the most beautiful animations I’ve seen. A fairy tale with ghosts and witches, coupled with Joe Hisaishi’s music makes for excellent entertainment especially after work. Almost guaranteed to grant you fantastic dreams thereafter.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was hesitant to watch this film because I did not really like Howl’s Moving Castle, but my five-year-old stepdaughter needed some entertaining so we decided to try this. She was enchanted (although a little scared in parts) and so was I. The animation is beautiful, but the story, a twisted fairy tale with ghosts, spirits and monsters, was engrossing. You never knew where it was going. It reminded me a lot of Alice in Wonderland. Highly recommended.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I had just gotten home from work around 1:30 at night and was flpping through the channels to unwind and stopped at a little girl arriving with her parents at an abandoned building. I didn’t know the name of the movie, the director, or any of the premise. And I don’t really fawn over animation. And even though I was dead tired I couldn’t help being captivated by the screen. It was beautiful! Enchanting! I sat through the whole film with my eyes wide open….

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This movie was truly overrated and awful. I don’t know what anybody say in it. I will admit that the animation was cool but that was about it.

WORTH CONSUMING!

My first experience with a Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki film was when Spirited Away was in theatres. I took my 5 year old daughter to see it, and she fell in love. After that, whenever we found a Studio Ghibli DVD, we would buy it. I wanted her to be inspired by charachters other thatn the helpless Disney Princess archtypes, and Miyazaki is the answer. He makes movies that we can watch together and brings up topics I might not have thought to discuss. She may still want to play with Barbies, but at least sometimes they’re wolf princesses. And she tells all her friends that her favorite director is Hayao Miyazaki.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Eh. I didn’t love it, but it is worth seeing.

I was watching this with a 3 year old and when he got scared I told him it was just exciting and nothing bad was going to happen to the girl, that she’d be alright in the end, because she was the heroine. Does that spoil the effect? Is it wrong to tell kids this?

We drove over an hour to see this movie in the theater. It was well worth it. Its beautifully drawn, a magical story and good for every age.

My daughter really likes this movie and Kiki’s delivery service. Kiki was ok, but I thought this one was magical for kids and adults.
