Garbage — 31 weeks ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

For one thing, this ISN’T a secret. It’s regurgitated garbage that someone decided to market with a catchy name. “Shhh, it’s a SECRET. Do YOU want to know the SECRET?”

The most dissapointing aspect of this is how so much is focused on material wealth. A “four and a half million dollar mansion”, that Jack Canfield boasts of, for instance. Or “if you just believe, people will send you money”. While I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair, we’re not even talking about financial freedom. In short, it’s more like greed.

And while I agree that to a large degree, we make our own happiness and happiness truly is just a state of mind, something this book addresses, if you TRULY have depression, bi-polar or any other type of mental illness, you simply CAN’T just tell yourself you’ll get better and it makes me so mad to have this told to me in the form of a condescending little book.

The same goes for anyone who has an illness that isn’t mental. You CAN’T just wish yourself better if you have diabetes or epilepsy!

I found this book to be quite inspiring when I read it. The inspiration only lasted for about a week though…and then I was back to my old ways:P

WORTH CONSUMING!

Reading this book just affirmed my beliefs in magic and Paganism; which teaches the same thing, actually. It’s really about us – as individuals – creating the world we live in, and being responsible for it; instead of believing that someone else controls our destiny and forgives our actions. It really is all about You, and how every thought and action creates the present and the future. Once I discovered that, life was much more empowering, and I was no longer a victim of anyone or anything.

I really enjoyed “The Secret” because they put it in easy-to-understand terms, and brought along many recognizable faces (like Jack Canfield) to add validity. While the “you are God” message is disarming, it has many layers of truth to it. I hope people can look beyond that, and take the real message to heart.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Honestly, I thought this was just another “positive thinking” book when I first saw it. PLUS it seemed a bit too new agey to my mind…

However, having read it and put some of the techniques to the test, I can safely say that this is a book to CONSUME and to make your own and not for lending…

WORTH CONSUMING!

Pretty Good. Although there were some parts that made me uncomfortable, like saying we are all gods, I think its a good read. There’s alot of great advice in here and some bad advice. My advice? Take from it what you’re comfortable with.

How this changed my life — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

At first my life was starting to crumble but I just prayed, hoped and believed that bright days would be ahead of me. I seen the power of the secret and been affected by it. I believe that this law of attraction really works. Positive thinking is the best thing ever because, it has really manifested answers to questions that have been unanswered in my life. Once you realize it you will be enlightened when you discover that everything happens in your life you brought about both good and bad.
