Read reviews about the movie a long time ago, but got to watch it on tv about a few weeks back.
Was rather impressed, esp. owing to the rather endearing leading lady Chameli (Kareena) and her (for want of a better word) charm.
Loved the way she infuses humanity ~ with anger, maternal love, beautiful/mannish, even/deep-throated (and thence, more life-like) laughter, unadulterated yes, I insist and genuine Friendship with the (genteel & hopefully, until the end) stranger, a coquettish and dangerous dance she’s to lead just so she can keep going on, in whatever (little or otherwise) life throws at one) into a role, that’s difficult to breathe life into.
Lovely take, and some lovely lines too. Also liked the beautiful idea that what the two leading characters do for each other from their first encounter (no wild guesses, please) is founded singularly (to me) on genuine compassion & thoughtfulness and the desire to just be there for a fellow soul in need of help at nadirs that no elaboration will dissolve.
