As Woody Allen’s cinematic follow up to Match Point, I was expecting more than I got from watching this movie. Scarlett Johansson’s performance was poor in this film, and the whole thing seemed like I was watching a play with poor acting skills as opposed to a cinematic film with famous actors. There is little substance and the storyline is predictable and tired.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

As far as I am concerned, this is one of the worst works of Allen and I saw all his movies. The story is repetitive and inconclusive, there are a few good texts in the script though. As much as I like Scarlett, i can’t say she’s the best comedy actress I have ever seen, besides, having been put in a serious journalist’s role in this movie, she’s being more of a ‘loose girl’ here, so her character is not convincing to me at all. I saw this movie half an hour ago and I’ve already forgotten it. Frankly speaking, I expected so much more.

i really expected more from this film and for (spoiler!) for Hughie to be innocent. Boy was i wrong. Okay, but not my favorite for Aleen or the two leading characters.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this movie – when the ghost pops up inside the magician’s box, I was sure it was going to be a flop. But actually it was really enjoyable – funny, gripping – Woody Allen at his neurotic best. I really enjoyed it.
