Essentially this is the Magnetic Fields’ Stephen Merritt along with Daniel Handler (AKA “Lemony Snicket”) doing songs which are all related to the SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS books.
Bits of this are as good as Merritt’s usual work with Magnetic Fields (“The World is a Very Scary Place” comes to mind..) but so many of these are so tied into the books that they can’t be enjoyed that well as separate entities. Love the books…love Magnetic Fields…not sure I’ll be buying this one though.
