Oh Walken, Where Art Thou? — 1 year ago
I barely found watching this worthwhile. Sure, there were some funny sketches on this disc, but lord almighty is it awkward watching Walken sometimes. Glassy-eyed, confused, trying desperately to read off the cue cards: in some of the sketches, it looks like they just wheeled him out in front of the camera after a too-brief nap. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some great moments. My two favourites were the census scene with Tim Meadows, and one of the early Continental sketches. Even “More Cowbell”, which I watched for the first time, was funny, despite Jimmy Fallon being completely unable to keep a straight face. So overall, a dvd that I could watch only once all the way through, with only a few gems worth repeated viewing.
