The King is just slightly fascinating; Elvis is a contradictory character. First you’re thinking “impulse control problems.” Then you’re thinking “subnormal intelligence.” Or maybe he’s just your garden-variety sociopath.

I see that some of the reviewers on Amazon found this movie unsettling or disturbing. I found the story and the characters too ridiculous to be either, although it’s well done, for what it is. Take a steadicam and follow the participants of The Jerry Springer Show around in their everyday lives, this is what you’d get.

If you buy the “Greek tragedy” claims made in Wikipedia, it’s more solid than I rate it.
